Memo to Bill Gates "Then you embedded 802.11 wireless support in Windows XP and Pocket PC OSes." Buzz.. wrong, Pocket PC does not have native support for 802.11. You have to install network drivers, just like any other network connection.

The Nando Times: Tech alliance seeks universal wireless standard This could be big, or it could be nothing. It is definitely interesting since it involves Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, and Microsoft, and 200 other companies. But Palm Computing is not involved, and personally I think that is a bug that needs to be fixed.

Jeff Kirvin asks, "Has PalmOS Lost the Edge?" He makes a compelling case. One point he brings up is size. Here is an perspective that I have not seen brought up. I think one of the problems with Palm OS handhelds is that they are too small. Or in particular, their screens are too small. For me the Pocket PC's screen size is just right. In fact, I am not completely sure I like the smaller screen size on the Toshiba and Jornada Pocket PCs, as I find myself preferring the iPAQ's screen size.
