PDABuzz.com Discussion Forums - TT Tech's SnapNType Mini-keyboard Now Available for Palm m500/505 and Compaq iPAQ 3600 series According to the press release the T301 keyboard fits at the bottom of the iPAQ 3600 series even if it is in a sleeve.Since the 3600 series is specifically mentioned I suspect the keyboard does not work with the new 3800 series iPAQs. The keyboard is supposed to be available this month for $39.95. DataAnywhere will be selling this keyboard.

I have Inbox configured on my Pocket PC so that it calls my ISP, downloads e-mail, and disconnects. About a week ago this process started to not work as normal. Inbox would dial and download e-mail, but the Pocket PC stays connected to the Internet. I just figured out the problem. If you start MSN Messenger and tap Tools, Options you see a checkbox that says "Run this program upon connection." If you select that checkbox, MSN Messenger starts whenever the Pocket PC connects to the Internet, even if it is not running. Therefore in my case, since MSN Messenger was running, Inbox would not be able to disconnect from my ISP. I finally fixed this problem by clearing the check box.

Check out what Todd has found at his local Costco. The Intel Digital Movie Creator, which is a $90 digital video recorder that can save to AVI or WMV format. You can record up to 4 minutes of video on this thing, and the WMV can be viewed directly on a Pocket PC.

Arne Hess has written up a detailed preview of the mmO2 O2 XDA. Before you go to read the article I recommend having paper towels handy or put on a bib to deal with the drool.

BTW, I don't think anyone has clear information about whether the O2 XDA will ever make it to North America. I wanted to put a picture of the XDA on the cover of the 2nd Edition and my aquisitions editor didn't receive a positive response for mmO2 about US availability, therefore we decided to not put it on the cover.

Wireless News -- Linksys Helps PDAs Tap into Wi-Fi Linksys is selling a Type 2 CompactFlash WLAN card for Pocket PCs. It will cost $129. Note that this will not work in the HP Jornada Pocket PCs, and you will still need a CompactFlash sleeve for the Compaq iPAQ since it doesn't have a built-in CompactFlash slot.

Seiko Instruments Introduces New SmartPad for Pocket PC "With the Pocket PC now gaining ground in the PDA market, it's time for us to offer SmartPad convenience and efficiency to consumers who prefer Pocket PC organizers." Well they aren't organizers, they are handheld PCs. But the point is still the same and it is good to see that more manufacturers are coming out with items for Pocket PCs. Though I wonder how well this will sell. After all, you can do everything with this product by just using Pocket PC Notes.
